Step 1. Lot Selection: |
The three
choices available to you are as follows:

A.)
Your Lot: We will evaluate your
lot to determine; what type of custom home
can be built there, what the land will cost
to develop with the infrastructure available,
and what the state, county, and local laws
will require, such as easements, wet lands
deed restrictions and other limitations that
may effect the building process.
B.) Our Lot: We
have several lots in the Saratoga Springs
area that we will walk with you to determine
which is best suited for your custom home
design.
C.) A Lot For Sale:
R.J. Taylor Builders, Inc. may help you in
the purchase of a lot for sale that you may
find in another location.
D.) Location:
R.J. Taylor Builders, Inc. build homes in the
following areas but not limited to:

York in Saratoga Springs,
Clifton Park, Wilton, Albany, Glens
Falls, Queensbury, Cohoes, Lake George,
Galway, Greenfield, Charlton, Malta,
Ballston Spa, Half-moon, Latham, and the
rest of Saratoga County.

Step 2.
Home Design:
|
This is the
most personal step to building a custom home.
We will work with you, guiding you towards
the custom home design you wish to achieve.
We have many custom plans to choose from, but
aren't limited to them. We also have Software
tools such as Soft Plan, which we can use to
redesign a plan you may already have found.
Bring us a House plan design that, and we can
change the flow of the layout, exterior
design, and size of the home to create your
own custom home.

3. Mortgage Application & Acceptance: |
We have a
mortgage broker you can work through, or you
can bring your own on board.

4. Permit Application: |
The
Application of the permit is done by R.J.
Taylor Builders, Inc. We are responsible for
all of the county requirements on our lots.
It usually takes 30-45days to get an approved
building permit from the County. (Depending
on State Holidays)

5. Permit Approval: |
Within 72Hrs.
we will begin flagging the lot to be cleared.
This is when the scheduling of construction
begins.

6. Ground - Breaking: |
After the lot
is cleared the home is strategically placed
for best southern exposure, and air to light,
and the digging begins.

7. County Inspections: |
Each step of
the building process requires approvals by
the County Inspector.

8. "Use and Occupancy" |
Once your
custom home is completed and the final
building approval is granted by the
appropriate county Inspectors the County will
issue a "Use and Occupancy
Certificate" this certifies your home
has passed all Inspections and is ready for
you to move in.

9. Warranty Work |
We follow the
Builders Warranty, which we provide for you
at the signing of the contract.

10 Move In |
Congratulations!
You're moved in to your lavish new custom
home within 180 days of the signing of your
contract.
